Rigger
The New York office of Frost Productions is seeking highly-motivated and qualified entertainment Riggers who are based in the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut) to join our team on a freelance basis.
Position Responsibilities:
- Work with onsite supervisor to ensure safe installation, use, and removal of rigging equipment used during events
- Hang points for trussing, line arrays, video systems, scenery, and soft goods
- Build ground-supported truss structures for lighting, audio, video,
- Adhere to safety standards for rigging equipment and safe working methods
- Operate scissor and boom lifts as needed
Position Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in the event industry
- Comprehensive understanding of safe working loads, safety factors, and rigging standards
- Experience with arena rigging practices and terminology
- Ability to manage projects and small crews as assigned by onsite supervisor
- Osha Aerial Lift certification or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working at heights
- Demonstrate initiative and ownership of assigned tasks
- Punctuality, professionalism, and a positive, collaborative attitude when working with clients and co-workers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Comfortable driving large vehicles (16’ to 24’ box trucks – CDL not required)
- ETCP Rigging Certification or equivalent
- Experience with temporary electrical distribution
