Production Technician
The New York office of Frost Productions is seeking highly-motivated and experienced freelance Production Technicians who are based in the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut).
Position Responsibilities:
- Installation, focus, and strike of theatrical lighting equipment and temporary electrical distribution
- Unload/load trucks as necessary during load-in/strike
- Follow direction from onsite leadership team
- Read and execute drafting and associated paperwork for productions
- Assist with other production disciplines as necessary (audio, video, rigging, and scenic)
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a stage/event electrician
- Experience working with conventional, LED, and automated lighting fixtures
- Working knowledge of basic electrical and rigging safety principles
- Comfortable working at heights (on ladders and lifts)
- Experience with temporary electrical power distribution, DMX, and related control signals
- Availability and willingness to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Demonstrate initiative and ownership of assigned tasks
- Punctuality, professionalism, and a positive, collaborative attitude when working with clients and co- workers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with additional production disciplines such as audio, video, rigging, and fabrication
- Experience working with Astera Wireless LED and Clay Paky automated fixtures
- Experience with Jands Stage CL and GrandMA consoles
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to use boom lifts, forklifts, and drive large vehicles (16’ to 24’ box trucks – CDL Not Required)
