A1-Live Audio Engineer

The New York office of Frost Productions is seeking highly-motivated and experienced A1 Live Audio Engineers who are based in the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut). The A1 – Live Audio Engineer assists with the general setup of the assigned event or show, as directed by the crew leader, as well as oversees and directs the Audio setup. This is not an entry-level position and extensive live corporate/music experience is required.

Position Responsibilities:

Execute the technical aspects of each design, including interpreting audio needs and all signal flow plans, I/O lists, and stage & venue plots
Mix FOH, Monitors or Streaming Audio Feeds
Provides professional, courteous service to all clients
Fulfills the role of System Tech or Console Operator, or both when required, depending on the size of the event
Responsible for setup, operation, and strike of equipment before, during, and after events, including operating all system processors/software, audio consoles, playback support systems, and any audio related gear as required
Direct any Audio technicians under their supervision in the completion of any tasks to deliver the expected Frost level of service, providing guidance when necessary

Position Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of live lead audio experience required
Live-mixing skills and working knowledge of digital consoles, specifically DiGiCo, Soundcraft, Yamaha, and Midas
Excellent system management skills; including building a line array per spec sheet
Understanding of line array prediction and monitoring software required; preferably Martin Audio Display & VuNet and Harman Audio Architect
Excellent knowledge of proper gain structure and signal flow
Working knowledge of standard audio related software, such as, but not limited to, Shure Workbench 6, Qlab 4, Harman Audio Architect and Martin Audio Display & VuNet
Ability to interpret event technical documents including technical riders, signal flow diagrams, input lists, stage plots, run-of- show, cue lists,
Comprehensive understanding of audio-related rigging gear including motors, hoists, crank lifts, truss, span sets, shackles, beam clamps, mega-claws, and their practical application
Ability to work in a high-stress environment and demonstrate initiative
Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and time-management skills
Availability and willingness to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Punctuality, professionalism, and a positive collaborative attitude when working with clients and co-workers

Preferred Qualifications:

Corporate / Special Events / Hotel / Arena / Broadcast experience is a plus
Working knowledge of Waves Soundgrid servers
Self-motivated with ability to work on several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
Ability to stand, kneel, and/or crouch for long periods of time
Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, operate single column lifts (Genies or scissor lifts), and comfortable working at heights
Ability to work in variety of environments, including hot, humid, cold, and in small, cramped spaces
Able to lift up to 50
